What is the difference between the Surf Hat and the Surf Helmet Hat?
The Surf Hat (€49) is sun protection: UPF 50+ fabric, adjustable fit, and it floats. The Surf Helmet Hat (€69) is the same hat with a removable insert that absorbs board and wipe-out impacts. If you surf crowded line-ups, take the helmet hat.
What does the impact insert do, and what does it not do?
It absorbs board and wipe-out impacts, yours and other people's.
Being straight with you about the limits: it is not a certified helmet, and it does not cover the back of your head or your neck. It is built for the impacts that actually happen in a crowded line-up.
Does it stay on when you wipe out?
Yes. The fit is adjustable and you tighten it before you paddle out. And if it ever does come off, it floats, so you pick it up instead of watching it sink.
How do I choose my size?
Measure the circumference of your head just above your ears: size S fits 56 to 58 cm, size M fits 59 to 61 cm. If you are between the two, take M.
How much sun protection does it give?
The fabric is UPF 50+ and the brim shades your face for a full session, so you are not squinting into the glare on every wave.
Is it hot to wear?
No. It is made to be worn wet, and the water keeps it cool through the session.
How do I take care of it?
Rinse it with fresh water after every session and let it air dry, exactly like your wetsuit. No machine, no dryer.

Every order is packed by hand and dispatched within 24 business hours. We ship across Europe, and shipping is free on orders over €150.
InPost (Mondial Relay) pick-up points are available in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, shown at checkout.
For orders to the United States and Canada, any duties, taxes or import fees are paid by the customer.
What if it does not fit? Can I return it?
Yes. You have 14 calendar days from delivery to return your order, no reason needed, under EU consumer law. Items must come back unworn, unwashed and with their tags.
Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item is faulty, in which case we cover it. Orders shipped to the United States and Canada are final sale.
Can I track my order?
Yes. You get a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.

Silvia, a surfer. She got badly burnt surfing in Nicaragua and spent her sessions in Ericeira worried about the boards around her. So she made the hat she wanted to wear.
